The notice came around 1:00 a.m. this Thursday, when the Turolense Local Police received a call from a neighbor at number 56 Calle San Francisco saying that they had heard noises as if there were cracks, in addition to having seen some cracks. in the walls.
Members of the Local Police, National Police, Firefighters and several technicians from the City Council immediately went to the place. When they saw the crack that had occurred in the stairs, they proceeded to evacuate as a precaution.
In total, the residents of 13 homes were evacuated, although a couple are not occupied, according to reports from the consistory. Six of the affected families spent the night in a hotel establishment in the city, while the rest were able to stay in the homes of relatives or friends.
Meanwhile, municipal technicians have continued working on the building and preparing a report. In principle, they believe that the cracks detected "do not affect the main pillars or the load-bearing walls."
In parallel, another farm administration technician is preparing another private report on the situation. If both texts positively assess the situation of the building, the residents could return to their homes this Thursday.
Meanwhile, work continues to relocate those affected by the collapse last Tuesday, which caused no casualties thanks to the rapid eviction of the affected farm and its neighbors. Yesterday, the consistory rehoused two other affected families, while another three found accommodation on their own.
According to the City Council, eight families from the three affected buildings are still pending relocation: the one that collapsed, at number 21, and the two located on the sides, numbers 19 and 23. After what happened, the council promised to provide a housing solution “as soon as possible”.
On the other hand, while the necessary prior steps are taken to proceed with the removal of rubble, the Turolense City Council has appointed the person who will be the interlocutor of the consistory -former councilor Rocío Féliz de Vargas- with the platform of those affected, a figure that the neighbors claimed .
In this sense, those affected by the collapse of their building indicated that a meeting has already been held in which they have expressed their concern that the removal of rubble be carried out in such a way "that the causes of what happened can be clarified", as well as how to recover “as many personal belongings as possible”.
