Pimec asks the Government to participate in the social dialogue

The president of Pimec, Antoni Cañete, demanded today that the Government allow the employers of small and medium-sized companies to participate with their "own voice" in the social dialogue "as is already the case in Catalonia and Madrid". He said it during the Pimec 2023 Awards ceremony at the CCIB in Barcelona.

In the act, in which the ministers of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares and of transport, Raquel Sánchez, together with the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonés, and the president of the Congress, Mertitxell Batet, participated, the employers gave 10 prizes to companies and individuals in recognition of their business practices this year.

Aragonès highlighted in his speech the importance of the National Pact for Industry for economic development. He especially valued the role played by SMEs and especially Pimec in Catalonia in social dialogue such as when they supported the budgets.

Albares advanced that during the European presidency the strengthening of the European intellectual property network, aid to SMEs and the analysis and use of artificial intelligence in the field of intellectual property will be "supported".

For Batet, the arrival of European funds have contributed to the development of the country after the pandemic.

Cañete took advantage of his speech to claim "the presence, influence and commitment to Europe." One of the projects in which the employers have been involved is in the "delinquency problem".

Cañete also referred to the controversy over business margins and intervened in the debate assuring that it is necessary to "differentiate large companies from SMEs that cannot transfer the increase in costs to their prices."

Among the winners, the Gremi de Tintorers y Bugaders de Barcelona stand out for their Business activism; the BSM–UPF chair future retail scenarios as recognition of commerce; and Natulim in recognition of Pimec Joves. They also received an award from El Rosal with the Diplocat award for Catalan Business Projection; Karina Hidalgo, from Luka's Bakerry and Wilfred Lobera for the CaixaBank – Fundació PIMEC recognition for the second Business opportunity; Arico Forest for the Valores al Desarrollo Sostenible award; and Alemany 1879 for the Business Linguistic Quality award. As the most competitive SMEs, Toni Pons, Bioident-Cell and Cohitech were awarded.
