Otoño shines in the otro Passeig de Gràcia

In this photograph in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia I captured an autumn morning in Passeig de Maristany, in Camprodon, in Ripollès. Yellowed trees and a carpet of dry leaves.

This promenade was built with the same measurements and characteristics as Passeig de Gràcia and has more than 500 trees, most of which are beech trees originating from the time of its construction.

It was conceived by Francesc Carles Maristany i Garriga in 1923, together with the architect Bernardí Martorell and the contractor Francesc Suriñach. It was the result of the urbanization of part of the land of Can Aulí, a farmhouse that Maristany had bought to build a family residence.

The promenade became the cradle of an area of new constructions with houses designed by architects such as Duran i Reynals, Coderch, Mitjans or Sagnier.

It is a wide, majestic tree-lined avenue, with a central promenade developed during the 1920s. It is flanked by rows of trees on both sides and was designed slightly curved.
