On February 15 and 16, in the Aula Magna of the La Nau Cultural Center, in Valencia, the First Conference on Cinema and Law will take place, focused on the collection of the same name directed by Fernando Flores and Javier de Lucas at the Tirant lo publishing house. Blanch. The conference addresses the connection between the seventh art and the legal system based on the reflections of prestigious jurists, most of whom are authors of books in the collection.

The inauguration by the Vice-Rector for Culture and Society, Esther Alba Pagán, and the coordinator of the conference, the professor of Linguistics Beatriz Gallardo Paúls, will be followed by an opening conference starring the filmmaker and former minister of culture (2006-2009) Ángeles González Sinde, who will star in a conversation about "Cinema, Law and Life" with the director of the collection, Fernando Flores, and the filmmaker Irene de Lucas. In the afternoon session, at a second table, topics that are also undeniably topical will be addressed, such as feminist demands, the power of the media or war; The participating authors will present their experience writing about “Adam's Rib”, “The Accused”, “Vania on 42nd Street”, the series “The Loudest Voice” or, in the case of the Italian professor Chiara Vitucci, the most of 20 films that addressed the Yugoslav wars of the 90s. Without a doubt, topics of interest that invite up-to-date reflection.
