Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took for granted this Tuesday night an agreement between Israel and Hamas for a ceasefire and announced that the Israeli hostages will be released "in phases."
According to several local media outlets, 50 Israeli hostages - children and women - held by Hamas will be released in the coming days - an estimated 10 each day - in exchange for some 150 Palestinian prisoners in Israel. The agreement has also been confirmed by Al Jazeera citing Israeli sources.
Tonight, Netanyahu highlighted that US President Joe Biden, who turned 81 yesterday, has helped "improve the agreement to include more hostages", who will be released progressively.
In his same message, the Israeli Prime Minister has also explained that he has conveyed to his Government that the pact "is the correct decision" and has advanced that after said ceasefire Israel - which Hamas has not yet confirmed and which will last several days - will resume attacks on the Gaza Strip, so there is no immediate end to the war in sight.
Benjamin Netanyahu had already announced this Tuesday that as part of the potential agreement between Israel and Hamas for the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for the release of prisoners from the Islamist group, the Red Cross will visit the hostages and offer them medical help.
