Nearly 6,000 people obtained a Valencian certificate in the 2023 tests

About 6,000 people obtained a certificate from the Valencian Knowledge Qualification Board (JQCV) in the 2023 tests out of more than 35,000 people registered.

According to the Department of Education, of those more than 35,000 people registered, more than 19,000 participated in the 2023 call.

Of these, 31% have obtained the final grade of passing and, therefore, will receive the official certificate that accredits their level of knowledge of Valencian.

The tests were carried out throughout the months of October and November.

First, the areas that have a written part, both comprehension and expression, took place, and then the applicants had to pass the oral area.

In this part they have to demonstrate that the language level complies with the contents and objectives of the corresponding level, according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages.

The highest levels, as is usually the case, are those that bring together a higher number of participants. Level C1 stands out above all with 17,645 people enrolled, followed by C2 with 10,220, B2 with 4,080, B1 with 1,983 and A2 with 1,330.

Once the final results are completed and obtained, an analysis of the results is carried out.

The percentage of those passing is inversely proportional to the degree of difficulty of the level sought; however, the certification levels of previous years have been maintained without obtaining significant differences in this regard.

This means that the levels that obtain the best results are the lowest, A2 with 64% of those presented, B1 with 43% and B2 with 48%.

It should be noted that of the highest levels, C2 obtains a better result, 5% more than C1, an aspect that we can also detect between levels B1 and B2, since B2 also has 5% more aptitudes on those presented.

The percentage of over-submitted candidates at level C1 is 25% and at C2 it is 30%.

Thus, in 2023, 487 people have obtained the A2 level certificate (8% of certificates), 444 the B1 level (8%), 782 the B2 level (13%), 2,674 the C1 level (45%) and 1,523 level C2 (26%).

For the Qualifying Board, it has been detected that there is still a need to spread more the importance of obtaining the immediately previous level and participating in the tests with good training, especially in terms of written expression at the C1 and C2 levels, since the oral expression at all levels "can be considered generally good."

For the JQCV, many of the people registered at level C1 would have to first pass the B2 level test and then, with good training, take the C1 test.

"Many of the people participating in level C1 do not demonstrate this level, but they could obtain the immediately preceding level, B2," states the Qualifying Board.

Finally, more than 10,000 people took the C1 level test and only about 1,600 took the B2 level test.
