The complex Spanish political situation that is making the formation of a new government difficult could lead to a delay and lack of agreement that forces the current general budgets of the State to be extended. It is a scenario that, according to the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, would be "very harmful" for the province of Alicante, since it has been in 52nd place in the investment ranking in the last two years, and such a situation would prolong that circumstance.
This was stated at the inauguration ceremony of the new Delegate of the Consell in Alicante, the former councilor of Torrevieja Agustina Esteve, who after swearing in her position - proud to be the first woman from Torrevieja to occupy it - has stated that she believes that "ensuring water for irrigation", reducing waiting lists and accelerating the Mediterranean Corridor are the priority issues that the province must address immediately.
"The time has come for Alicante, Mazón assured, to then declare itself a "provincialist", which in his opinion constitutes the best way "to be autonomist". The president has praised Estévez's profile, due to her feminine condition, her long experience and, above all, the "municipalist vision" that his years as mayor in Torrevieja have given him.
Although the event was held at the new headquarters that the Consell has just inaugurated in the old Post Office building, which has housed the headquarters of the Presidency in Alicante during its brief period of operation, Mazón has announced that his intentions are different.
