Mazda MX-5, the world's best-selling convertible

After more than three decades and selling 1.1 million units, the legend of the Mazda MX-5 continues to grow. The reason is that this iconic roadster –which was named World Car Design of the Year– has known how to evolve over the years, always with a style brimming with energy and faithful to its Jinba Ittai spirit, which seeks the perfect harmony between the driver and his vehicle. In its 2023 version it offers new colors for the bodywork, the canvas roof and the interiors. It also has a new nomenclature in the range with more complete equipment, even in access models.

The new Zircon Sand body color replaces the previous Polymetal Gray shade, while the fabric top, which opens and closes in an instant with one simple movement, is now also offered in brown for the special Kazari version.

The renewed range now allows the customer to choose between the Prime-Line access category, the Exclusive-Line medium finish or the top of the range, called Homura. Exclusive-Line and Homura models can be equipped with the optional Driver Assistance Package, which complements the extensive offering of i-Activsense driver assistance technologies.

The new Homura (formerly Zenith) finish also incorporates a series of sporty elements, such as the Recaro seats and the black mirror housings. The higher versions that mount the 184 hp 2.0 Skyactiv-G engine also have a Brembo braking system, Bilstein shock absorbers, a suspension bar and BBS cast alloy wheels, providing not only a sportier image but also more dynamic behavior. . The RF special edition models with the 2.0 l. Skyactiv-G can be combined with an automatic transmission. For their part, the variants with the highest finish but equipped with the 132 hp 1.5 Skyactiv-G engine – which is available for the entire range – have RAYS alloy wheels.

Mazda has also introduced two new special versions, called the Kazari and Kizuna, which are identified by their unique color combinations: the Kazari has terracotta leather upholstery and a brown canvas or black hardtop, while the Kizuna combines a white leather upholstery with a blue canvas top or a black hardtop.
