Sumar's current spokesperson in Congress, Marta Lois, is set to be the candidate for Yolanda Díaz's party for the elections on February 18 in Galicia, although the final decision will be announced at an event tomorrow in Santiago de Compostela.

Sources from the party have acknowledged to EFE that conversations about the names to lead the candidacy have been diverse since last Thursday when the president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, announced the electoral advance.

Several names were considered but the main idea of the representatives of the group in Galicia had been for a long time that Lois lead the candidacy.

Currently, Lois, who ran as Sumar's number 1 in the general elections for the province of A Coruña, holds the position of spokesperson for the group in Congress.

The representative in Congress can combine her candidacy in Galicia with preserving the seat for A Coruña, but not take office in both Chambers.

Following her, Manuel Lago - advisor to Yolanda Díaz in the Ministry of Labor - and, later, Borja San Ramón, current national coordinator of Podemos Galicia and who is also being considered as a candidate for the purple ones in case they opt for attend alone.
