In 1988, the film director Roland Joffé invited Robert De Niro to eat at Matsuhisa, the actor fell in love with groundbreaking dishes so far removed from what until then was Japanese gastronomy.

From that day on, the actor went to the restaurant whenever he visited the city, it was then that he proposed to associate, but it took four years to convince him and they opened their first Nobu restaurant together, in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York. After almost 30 years, the banner has 17 establishments in the best destinations in the world, including Seville and Barcelona.
