Madeira, the Douro Valley or Menorca, 'low cost' temptations

Winter is coming to an end, next week we start spring. We are entering a time of year in which the days lengthen, the world blooms and the body asks us to travel. It is the ideal time to plan upcoming trips, whether getaways through Spain or Europe, great trips or cruises to spectacular destinations... but always with a good offer in hand.

Faithful to our weekly appointment, we once again present you the five most interesting options that we have discovered in recent days. Among them, you will find very diverse proposals, from Menorca to Indonesia, passing through Madrid, the Duero Valley or Madeira.

The Balearic Islands shine when spring arrives and become an irresistible temptation: the temperatures are pleasant and there are hardly any people in the coves. Each island has its personality, but Menorca is an oasis of tranquility, ideal for families. This is a five-day getaway by ferry, with accommodation at the TRH Tirant Playa Beach Hotel, very close to Tirant Cove and the small fishing village of Fornells, highly rated by guests.

It includes the round-trip ferry from Barcelona, on which you can board your car or motorcycle, four nights of accommodation (the first night on the boat and three nights in the hotel) and free outdoor parking.

There are always good reasons for a getaway to Madrid. If you are interested, we have found direct plane tickets in April from several Spanish airports at very attractive prices. As examples of round trip, leaving from Alicante, from €33; from Barcelona and Pamplona, €34; from Ibiza and Santiago, €35; from Seville, €41 and, finally, from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, €48.

Includes round trip plane tickets, air taxes and luggage up to 10 kilos (depending on the airline chosen).

Very close to wonderful and inspiring landscapes such as those of Simancas, Urueña or the lavender fields of Tiedra, we recommend a getaway to the El Montico hotel restaurant, on the banks of the Duero River, in Valladolid. The offer, in addition to upcoming weekends, includes Easter and long weekends. It is a recently renovated establishment, with a fireplace and rooms with a balcony, ideal for disconnecting from the daily routine.

Includes two nights' accommodation in a double room, daily breakfast and dinner for two.

Indonesia is an archipelago made up of around 17,500 islands. One of the most famous is Bali, “the island of the gods”. Known for its Hindu temples, beaches, volcanoes and beautiful rice paddies, this is a destination one should not miss. And even less so with an offer like this, whose price is less than €1,500 per person, something unusual, since trips of this style are rarely found for less than €2,000.

Includes international flights from Spain, internal flights to Bali, 10 nights of accommodation (3 in Legian, 3 in Ubud and 4 in Gili Trawangan), breakfast and cancellation and travel insurance.

The latest offering is Madeira, the best island destination at the 2023 World Travel Awards, a hot destination for Spanish travelers. Before summer, trips to the island have magnificent discounts, like this one, which reaches 42% to spend 6 days in a small hotel in the capital, Funchal. The price from Barcelona or Madrid is €705, but if you travel from Gran Canaria, it is reduced to €549.

Includes round-trip flights to Madeira, 5 nights at the Orquídea hotel in Funchal with breakfast, transfers and several complete tours of the island.
