Luuk de Jong puts fear in Sevilla's body, which passes the round

Sevilla will be this Friday in the draw for the round of 16 of the Europa League to be held in Nyon (12:00), after overcoming what had to be a procedure in Eindhoven after the 3-0 first leg. However, two goals from their former striker Luuk de Jong in four minutes, the second annulled, and Fabio Silva's 2-0 scoreline in added time put fear in the body of the Andalusian team, who ended up asking for the time.

With the first leg trailing 3-0 a week ago, Sevilla controlled the match at the Philips Stadion well, at least during the first half, despite the Dutch's stormy start in the first 10 minutes, with good scoring chances. Luuk de Jong (at 4 minutes) and Guus Til (10m).

But Sampaoli's men recovered, were superior in play and were closer to the goal than Van Nistelrooy's men at halftime.

After the break, En-Nesyri had in his boots the 0-1 that would have ended the tie, but Walter Benítez thwarted the goal (m. 48). The occasions followed one another on both sides. De Jong launched a first header warning (m. 57), Rakitic crashed a ball into the crossbar (m. 67), Bakayoko replied on a double occasion (m. 70)... which was triple when he missed another goal in the 74. Sevilla began to tremble. And more than would.

In minute 76, Luuk de Jong made it 1-0 with a shot between Dmitrovic's legs after an excellent play in which Fabio Silva headed down a long-distance service.

Four minutes later, the former Sevilla striker distressed Sampaoli's team with another goal, a left-footed shot from outside the area, which was ruled out for offside.

Veerman and Bakayoko still had another chance, and in 95 it was Fabio Silva who made it 2-0 with a ball hung in the area.

Orsato did not blow the final whistle until minute 97, which provoked the indignation of the Sevilla fans, who still had one last scare in minute 95 with the chance of Guus Til. Nianzou came across when the midfielder stood alone before Dmitrovic to look for the shot.

The embarrassing image of the game came in added time when a PSV supporter jumped onto the pitch and tried to attack Sevilla goalkeeper Dmitrovic. He was eventually subdued and carried off the field.
