Luis de la Fuente bets on Nacho to replace the injured David García in the Nations League

Luis de la Fuente, the Spanish coach, has summoned Nacho Fernández to take over David García's last-minute absence for the final four of the Nations League, after the injury to the Osasuna center-back on the last day of the League Santander.

Nacho, who returned to the Spanish team in Luis de la Fuente's first call as coach, had been ruled out for the Nations League due to the Rioja coach's commitment to name only three central defenders and make way for Robin Le Normand after achieving nationalization.

The coach's decision comes after receiving a medical report from Osasuna, after the injury suffered by David García in the first minutes of the match at El Sadar against Girona. De la Fuente has chosen to include Nacho in the list of 23 summoned and the player will join, along with the rest of the internationals, next Friday morning at the concentration in the Ciudad del Fútbol.

The Spanish team will play the semifinals of the Nations League, against Italy on June 15 in the Dutch town of Enschede. The day before, the Netherlands and Croatia will play the first semifinal.
