Liberated more than 1,170 square kilometers of the occupied Khershon region, Ukraine says

The Ukrainian armed forces reported on Sunday that they have liberated from the Russian occupation to date more than 1,170 square kilometers in the Kherson region.

"To this day and since the beginning of active operations, more than 1,170 square kilometers have been liberated in the Kherson direction. Work is underway to secure the territories, clean them up and carry out stabilization measures," said Nataliya Humeniuk, head of the press center for joint coordination of the Operative Command "South" on television.

In his statements, which is collected by the Ukrinform agency, he advised citizens not to immediately return to the liberated territory, since Russian troops mine buildings, infrastructure facilities, roads and fields during their withdrawal.

Also, cluster munitions scatter during attacks, he added.

"That is why they must be careful not to rush back to the liberated territories, give the experts the opportunity to carry out the appropriate stabilization measures so that their return is safe," he stressed.
