King Juan Carlos flies to Geneva thinking about returning to Spain in April

King Juan Carlos flew this afternoon from Vigo airport to Geneva, the city that will be his center of operations for a season, with the intention of returning to Sanxenxo within a month to participate in the second round of the Spanish Championship. the 6M league, which will be played on April 20 and 21. The King's father, who this Sunday took control of the Bribón, left happy since the boat was classified in first place after the regattas held this weekend. On Saturday, due to bad weather, King Juan Carlos followed the test from the ground.

The King's father arrived in Galicia last Wednesday afternoon after spending the day in Vitoria where he underwent a medical check-up at Dr. Eduardo Anitua's clinic. Coming from Geneva, King Juan Carlos made all the journeys aboard a private plane from the VistaJet company, owned by Swiss businessman Thomas Flohr, father-in-law of Prince Philippos of Greece. In his latest trips, King Juan Carlos has started a trip in Geneva, both the last two to Spain (the one this weekend and also the one he made in December to attend the 60th birthday of Infanta Elena in Madrid), and his trip to London to attend the mass in memory of Constantine of Greece that was celebrated in Windsor. Still retaining his official and fiscal residence in Abu Dhabi, King Juan Carlos has chosen to spend longer periods in Switzerland, where his daughter Cristina resides and from where it is more comfortable for him to travel to other cities in Europe and, also, receive the visit of friends and family, avoiding the most complicated trip to the Emirates.

During his stay in Sanxenxo, where he has resided as usual in the house of Pedro Campos, King Juan Carlos was accompanied from Thursday to Saturday by Infanta Elena, with whom last Friday he went, together with the Campos couple, to dinner at a Cambados restaurant. On Friday, King Juan Carlos shared the day with Inés Muiños, wife of José Cusí, owner of Bribón, who could not travel from Barcelona for health reasons. The Cusí couple has been King Juan Carlos's faithful companion for decades in all his sea adventures and they have traveled together around the world to compete with the different Bribón.

In this weekend's tests, Bribón won the first series of the 6 Meter League 2024 after finishing fourth place on Sunday, which, together with the first place from yesterday's day with Jane Abascal at the controls allowed him to break the tiebreaker with Mauricio Sánchez-Bella's 'Titia'.

Third position went to the Romanian team 'Essentia' of Catalin Trandafir, which, despite not being able to finish yesterday's test due to a break in its rigging, this afternoon managed to win the only test held in the Pontevedra estuary.

The biggest loser on Sunday was Santiago Campos' 'Stardust', which yesterday, thanks to conservative navigation, managed to avoid any damage and place itself in third place on the podium. However, this Sunday, on a day in which the intensity did not exceed eight knots, he could not go above seventh place, which relegated him to fifth position in the general classification.
