Jennifer Lopez sings her love for Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez is so in love and convinced of her love for Ben Affleck that she sings it to him. And if that were not enough to dedicate her ninth album, This is me… Now, which is released today, the artist also exhibits her particular fairy tale lived with the actor in a Prime Video musical film titled This is me…Now: A love story

“I felt compelled to tell this story and capture this current moment in time,” said the 54-year-old actress and singer. This album, which arrives ten years after the last one, is the continuation of the third, This is me…Then (2002), and thus completes a musical journey of more than 20 years in which he relives his intermittent love story with his current husband.

The couple met in 2001 on the set of the film A Dangerous Relationship (Gigli), when López was still married to her second husband, Cris Judd. Jennifer and Ben began dating in July 2002 and got engaged a year later. Their love ended, without explanation, four days before their first wedding, in 2004. Affleck would marry actress Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares three children. And JLo married Marc Anthony in 2004, with whom she was the mother of twins Max and Emme.

But the love of the Bennifers, as the couple was baptized in Hollywood in their first stage, would still have a second part. In 2021, after the actor had a brief romance with actress Ana de Armas and the Bronx actress canceled her wedding plans with Álex Rodríguez, the couple met again. They got married in 2022 and celebrated their love in style in two ceremonies: one in Las Vegas and the other in Georgia. And until today.

“Ben is the emphasis and inspiration for the music. He is my partner in life and in everything I do now. And he has been an incredible point of support in this process of vulnerability that I have never shown before,” he declared.

If JLo is anything, she is in love with love. “When I was a little girl and someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was always 'I want to be in love,'” she says in the trailer for this musical film, which tries to convey a hopeful message towards self-healing and the belief in that true love is possible.

He assures that the essence of this project lies in “accepting who you become over time.” On a personal level, “it is a declaration of intentions: this is me, with all my scars, the magic and the incredible that is in me, with all the romanticism, the sexy, the flirtatious and the grown-up woman who has overcome so many. obstacles. I am the person who accepts the woman she is today: happy, more self-confident and firm than ever about what she feels and convinced of who she is. And all this is This is me... Now”, she confirms.

In this mix of present and past, López reflects on how she has changed and grown. “When I think about my past self, she was a person who became what she had always dreamed of as a child. I released my third album and on it I still talked about being 'Jennifer from the Block' and having fallen in love for the first time in a way I had never experienced before. And that's what inspired the music. When I started creating This is me... Now, never in a million years would I have imagined that I would get back together with the man who was the muse of that album, much less make a totally new one focused on the same thing. For me, it is surreal, magical and very beautiful. Crazy!".
