A total of 31,302 people who are registered in Madrid are receiving a notification with acknowledgment this week to let them know that they have been elected to a polling station. The draw was held on June 23, so the first letters are arriving these days.
"The lucky ones" have been able to be elected as presidents of the table or as a member. The polling station with the largest number of voters is in Villa de Vallecas, with 1,067 voters, and the least in Latina, with 340.
If one is lucky or unlucky enough to be part of a polling station, it is mandatory. And if you cannot accept the position, you must justify it at the Madrid Zone Electoral Board, located at Calle Manuel Luna, 29. Said justification can also be presented at the electronic headquarters of the Madrid City Council (https:// sede.madrid .es), with electronic form.
In the capital Madrid, the next elections on July 23 will set up 3,478 polling stations in 416 polling stations, 15 fewer than in the previous May elections due to the fact that works are being carried out in some of them or due to the replacement of non-air-conditioned centers by others that do have air conditioning.

For example, a single-parent family can claim that they have no one to leave their children with and are normally exempted from taking charge.
Regarding people who will claim to be out of Madrid on vacation, the electoral board will assess the viability of the excuse. In order to be exempt, you will have to demonstrate that you acquired the vacation trip or stay before the elections were called and whose cancellation causes the affected person economic damage or serious disruption.
Failure to appear at a polling station is considered an electoral offense and carries penalties that can range from three months to one year in prison or fines of six to 24 months. Each member of the table will receive 70 euros and a diet, and in addition, they are entitled to five hours of rest the next day in their work day.
