Health will record the doctor who mistreated his wife and eight children in Colmenar Viejo

The Ministry of Health will open a file on a doctor from the Gregorio Marañón hospital who is accused of mistreating his wife and eight minor children, who are admitted to a first reception center in the Community of Madrid, while the hospital "will actively collaborate before any legal requirement".

According to ministry sources, given that an abundant amount of medical supplies was found in the home of this doctor in Colmenar Viejo, the Ministry's General Directorate of Human Resources and Labor Relations "is going to open a file with the appointment of instructor for the alleged theft of sanitary material".

In addition, the Gregorio Marañón Hospital "will actively collaborate in the face of any judicial request. It is also at the expense of the development of the investigation of the case to adopt the appropriate measures based on current legislation."

The father of the eight minors between the ages of 4 and 14 allegedly mistreated by their parents in the Madrid town of Colmenar Viejo also used violence against the mother, for which the judge has imposed a restraining order on her, as reported to EFE this Monday sources of the investigation.

The 45-year-old father, a doctor at the Gregorio Marañón hospital in Madrid, is accused, in addition to ill-treatment of his children -of which the mother is also accused-, a crime of gender violence, all in accordance with the investigations carried out by the Civil Guard as a result of the complaint from the environment of one of the minors, filed in mid-March.

The 44-year-old woman was "totally subdued" by her husband, the sources have stressed, although she, like the father, has had a restraining order imposed on the eight minors, from whom it has been withdrawn. precautionary parental authority.

The two parents were arrested on March 29, the date on which the Civil Guard searched the family villa in Colmenar Viejo, where the children lived "in a state of unsanitary conditions" that affected all the rooms except the father's office.

During the search, hospital uniforms (gowns, operating room suits), hospital supplies (gloves, masks, gauze, medicines) were found, whose origin could not be proven, so the father is being investigated for theft.

The investigation, in which agents of the Women-Minor Team (EMUME) of the Madrid Command, the social services, the duty prosecutor and the guardian agents of the Local Police have participated, confirmed the "serious situation of helplessness" and "domestic violence" to which the eight minors had been subjected for years.

According to the sources consulted by EFE, the father, who took advantage of his status as a doctor to justify the continuous absences of his children from school, was the one who had been in charge of avoiding, with total "hermeticism", that the situation came to nothing. the light.

And it is that some of the educational centers in which their children were enrolled had worried about their condition on several occasions, but the parents, especially the father, had tried to justify all kinds of carelessness about the eight minors, who are already admitted to a first reception center in the Community of Madrid.
