The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, believes that talking now about a self-determination referendum for Catalonia is "bait" to not do it about the amnesty and to make it seem like something "more reasonable." Furthermore, he has declared himself the "winner of the elections" and has criticized the "opportunism" of the acting president of the Government and general secretary of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, to continue in La Moncloa.
During a presentation at the La Toja-Vínculo Atlántico Forum, which closes this Saturday at Illa da Toxa, in O Grove (Pontevedra), Feijóo insisted that the PSOE has "lost the elections" but now "assumes the theses" of the independence parties to continue governing: "It is not coexistence, it is convenience. And it is not an opportunity, it is opportunism."
The president of the PP, who has said he is "proud" of not having managed to win the investiture this week for not agreeing to "blackmail", has blamed Sánchez and the current leadership of the PSOE for "altering" politics in Spain.
"We cannot blame the independence movement for what it has always defended. It has not changed in its actions, what has changed is the response of the Socialist Party to its demands," he warned.
