Feijóo asks for Marlaska's resignation from Barbate and for him not to sit in the Council tomorrow

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has made a stop in his Galician campaign, to which he will return this afternoon, to travel to Barbate where two civil guards died on Saturday, hit by their zodiac by a drug boat fleeing from the authorities.

With this, Feijóo tries to show how he and the PP can go to Barbate and listen to the demands of those affected by the incidents that have been happening with drug traffickers, while the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Garnde-Marlaska, has not even attended. approached Barbate, and yesterday, when he went to Pamplona, where one of the deceased civil guards was from, he received the disapproval of the deceased's colleagues and his wife, who did not allow him to be decorated.

In Barbate, Alberto Núñez Feijóo unequivocally requested the resignation of the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaska, and if not, the dismissal by the President of the Government, so that tomorrow he will no longer sit at the table of the Council of Ministers, for consider him responsible for the situation experienced by the state security forces and bodies in the area, in their fight against drug trafficking.

He did so after meeting with representatives of the associations of civil guards and national police that operate in the area, and verifying the "inferiority of resources" with which the security forces work in the fight against drug trafficking, of what they do. responsible to the Government, and specifically to the Minister of the Interior, because it is a situation that has been warned about for a long time, and it seems in the opinion of the president of the PP, that "the state has renounced control of a part of the territory" and " look the other way", not providing public servants with material and resources to carry out their task.

Faced with this situation, the president of the PP again asked the Government to make a declaration of an area of special singularity, with the provision of all the police or civil guard units that are necessary, since the matter, he said, requires material and resources. humans, whatever the cost, even in remuneration.

In addition, Alberto Núñez Feijóo announced that the PP will promote a reform of the Organic Law of the Judiciary, so that "especially serious" summaries can be transferred to the National Court, and thus give more protection to the Security Forces and Bodies of the State, because what happened on Saturday, he said, "cannot remain an incident." That is why the disapproval of Minister Marlaska, who assured that it will be done, is not worth it, but rather his resignation or his surrender is necessary.

"Marlaska cannot continue being Minister of the Interior," Feijóo said in an appearance before the media in which he did not admit questions about other matters, "because he has very dark matters behind him," among which he cited the events at the fence. of Melilla, the alleged passing of information to ETA prisoners, or the absence of means available to the security forces to fight organized crime.

For this reason, he believes that Marlaska must resign before tomorrow, and if not, Pedro Sánchez, whom he disgraced for going "to a movie festival on a night of mourning," must dismiss him, because if not, "the person responsible will be president". Of course, he said, if I were responsible I would only give him the choice "between resignation or dismissal."

The popular leader, who also met in Barbate with the mayors of the area, also promised that what happened "will not be forgotten" and will resume the Plan of special uniqueness that the PP Government had developed for the area in 2018. , before the motion of censure took place.

He will take it up again, he said, bringing to the Senate, where he has an absolute majority, all the members of the Government who have something to do with what happened, and to give explanations as to why "an area of the state has been humiliated and has resigned." to exercise their powers".
