ERC links the stability of the Government to the negotiation of the referendum

The ERC spokesperson, Raquel Sans, alerted Pedro Sánchez this Saturday that if he wants to continue governing he must “fulfill his agreements” and open a second phase of negotiation with the independence movement, with the referendum on the table, since otherwise The approval of “laws, budgets and parliamentary stability” of the central Executive may be jeopardized.

In an interview with Efe, the independence leader admitted that, for now, the Republicans see no reason to distrust the PSOE, since, in her opinion, steps forward are being taken in the different folders, such as the processing of the amnesty, progress towards the referendum and the transfer of Rodalies. “But we will see if the PSOE is keeping its word,” she said.

And he redoubled his warning to the President of the Government: “If the PSOE wants to govern in the State, it has to comply with the pacts with ERC.”

Some pacts that pass, as he said, through the approval of the amnesty and "opening the second phase of resolution of the political conflict", in which ERC "will put the referendum on the table, because it is the most democratic and most inclusive proposal." , through the clarity agreement that Pere Aragonès will propose.

But they also need to improve the financing of Catalonia to put an end to the “fiscal deficit of 22,000 million euros.” Sans affirmed that this new financing must be a “dignified and fair” system, although in no case “unsupportive.” “No one says that there should not be a solidarity quota, but that it is fair,” said the Republican spokesperson.

Republicans, on the other hand, regret that PSOE and PSC do not define their plan for Catalonia. Sans also assured that proposals by the PSC leader, Salvador Illa, such as the reform of the Statute fall short "without any doubt", in contrast to the referendum defended by ERC. “The reform of the Statute is a past screen.”

He also rejected Illa's proposal to propose a tax consortium – included in the Statute – among the measures to improve financing. “The PSC, once again, remains half-measured,” he insisted.
