ERC leads parity in Congress; the PNV, in the Senate, and the CUP, in the Parliament

Esquerra Republicana is the parliamentary group that leads parity in Congress, with 7 deputies out of a total of 13 in its ranks. The PNV, for its part, does the same in the Senate, while the CUP is the party with the most deputies in the Parliament of Catalonia. Vox is the formation with the fewest female parliamentarians (26%) in a Lower House that has, in total, 200 deputies and 149 deputies (that is, 57.3% and 42.7%).

The Esquerra seats held by women represent 53.8% of their group. They are Montse Bassa, Maria Carvalho, Inés Granollers, Norma Pujol, Marta Rosique, Carolina Telechea and Pilar Vallugera. Likewise, Coalición Canaria, which is part of the Mixed Group, has two representatives in Congress: María Fernández and Ana María Oramas.

Junts per Catalunya has 3 deputies out of 4, a scenario that must be framed within the configuration of the 2019 electoral list and the distribution of positions with the Partit Demòcrata (with whom it presented itself in a coalition and which later broke relations) and the subsequent transfer of leaders. Of the current representatives of Junts, then, three are women: Míriam Nogueras, Mariona Illamola and Pilar Calvo (who replaced Laura Borràs when the current party leader was elected as a parliamentary deputy). The only female representative of the PDeCAT, on the other hand, is Concep Cañadell.

The parliamentary group of Unidas Podemos, with 17 deputies out of 33 (51.5%), follows closely in the footsteps of ERC. In this ranking, just behind is the PSOE: 58 of 120 (48.3%). Ciudadanos, for its part, has 4 women in the group (formed by 9 deputies) and EH Bildu, with 2 (out of 5).

The PP (34 of 87, 38.6%), the PNV (2 of 6, 33.3%) and Vox (14 of 52, 26.9%) are the three groups with the fewest women parliamentarians.

The Basque nationalists, on the other hand, lead parity in the Senate with 7 women in a parliamentary group of 9 representatives. ERC moves in very similar numbers (7 out of 10), while Junts has 2 senators out of a total of 5. PSOE parliamentarians in the Lower House represent 43.4% of the group, while in the case of the PP the percentage is 39.3%. The Senate currently has 265 seats, of which 60% are held by men and 40% by women.

In the Parliament of Catalonia, which is practically equal (51% men and 49% women), the CUP is the formation with the most deputies in its ranks: 6 out of 9, which represents 67%. Next is Junts, with 17 women parliamentarians (53%), ahead of the PSC (also with 17; 52%), En Comú Podem, with 4 (50%), and ERC (16 deputies; 48%). Ciudadanos only has 2 women in its parliamentary group and of the PP (in the Mixed Group) there is a deputy. In percentage terms, it is once again Vox who closes the ranking (3 out of 10; 30%).

Currently in the Catalan Chamber, there are three deputies in the Bureau, not including Laura Borràs, suspended: Alba Vergès, first vice-president; Assumpta Escarp, second vice president; and Aurora Madaula, second secretary. In addition, there are two presidents of parliamentary groups (Jéssica Albiach, from the communes, and Dolors Sabater, from the CUP), four spokespersons (Alícia Romero, from the PSC; Marta Vilalta, from ERC; Mònica Sales, from Junts; and Eulàlia Reguant, of the CUP) and two deputy spokespersons (Susanna Segovia -ECP- and Marina Bravo -Cs-)
