Drexler, Venegas, La Casa Azul and Niño de Elche, at the Vida de Vilanova Festival

The Vida Festival begins this Thursday an edition that until Saturday July 1 will host a hundred concerts and sessions by DJs such as The Libertines, Julieta Venegas, La Casa Azul, Jorge Drexler, Niño de Elche, Núria Graham, Lori Meyers and Suede in Vilanova i la Geltru (Barcelona).

Speaking to Europa Press, the festival's director, Daniel Poveda, stressed that under the slogan This is not a festival, Vida wants to decentralize culture and bring cultural wealth to the area with a quality program and the "privileged environment" of the Masia d'en Cabanyes.

He explained that he is committed to a "more Nordic" festival concept, which is not done in the entire state geography, and treating the public as people and not as units, and that they put 10,000 tickets on sale daily although the capacity is 25,000. to ensure the comfort of attendees.

He has also highlighted that Vida wants to "flee from any general expression that the public understands as a festival, with crowds, lack of comfort and posters that resemble each other", and bet on selective programming and young and emerging talent, and has put as an example to Rosalía, who acted in Vida before becoming popular.

On Thursday 29 it will be the turn of the Mexican Julieta Venegas and the groups La Casa Azul and Lori Meyers, and Núria Graham, Maria Jaume, Alex Amor, Habla de mí en presente, Xicu, Massaviu, Killin' Cactuz and Henrio will also take the stage. .

Friday will arrive with the concerts of the French L'Impératrice, as well as those of Julieta, Niño de Elche, Xoel López, the group Za!

The festival will close the edition on Saturday with The Libertines, Tim Bernades, Valeria Castro, Jorge Drexler, La Plazuela, Ernest Crusats, Spiritualized, Rombo, Queralt Lahoz and Hologramma, and Poveda has assured that they are already working on a "special" edition for 2024 , coinciding with the tenth anniversary of Life.

Among the almost 40 DJs that will perform at Vida, the dj set of the British dance music duo Jungle and the Barcelona DJ Bulma Beat, a resident of parties such as Milkshake at the Sala Apolo in Barcelona and who has played in the final of the Champions League and in private events, for example Rihanna.
