Delafé and Las Flores Azules: 'Buenrollismo' in Pedralbes despite the rain

It is no coincidence that Oscar D'Aniello and Helena Miquel chose the theme Volvemos empezar de cero this Thursday to kick off their concert in the gardens of the Palau de Pedralbes, the first of the new cycle Les Nits de Barcelona. And it is that there are many comings and goings that the Catalan duo has starred in recent times.

First were Facto Delafé and Las Flores Azules. Then, after the departure of Marc Barrachina, they became Delafé and Las Flores Azules. And, some time later, when the Barcelona artist announced that she was getting off the train in 2015, the musical project came to an end and they both tried their luck starting separately.

Faithful like few others, the fans refused to believe that they were facing a final goodbye and put pressure to get them together again. An effort that paid off, because the members, who for years were a sentimental couple, joined forces again to be able to once again be that magnetic duo that so dazzled the public. "We have always done what came out of our noses," they acknowledged in an interview with La Vanguardia when they announced their return. The truth is that there was a compelling reason to do so: to celebrate twenty years of his musical career. And it is that if this duo is good at something, it is celebrating life and everyday life with a lot of rhythm, as they demonstrated this Thursday.

“Good evening, Barcelona, once again. It will be done at night and we will all do it together”, the couple greeted energetically from a stage located between trees and where the first eight concerts of the festival will be held, among which Las Migas or Buhos also stand out. They continued their repertoire with a smile at all times and with songs like Intento, Como loco and La Juani, the latter being the soundtrack of the Bigas Luna film Yo soy la Juani (2006). “White, red, green, yellow. Today they are partying, everyone in the neighborhood”, chanted the audience, of very varied ages although mostly millennial, upon hearing her. This was just a sample of the euphoria in the atmosphere, which had the applause as a backdrop for the little more than an hour and a half that the concert lasted.

“We have been waiting for them for a long time. They marked our university stage and we refused to believe that we were not going to be able to enjoy the good vibes that they always give off live again ”, Joana and Montse, two sisters who came from Lloret just for this show, recognized minutes before the show. "We have requested a party at work on Friday to be able to enjoy this night to the fullest and without rushing."

There were several who had the same idea and decided to start the weekend early. Others, on the other hand, were braver and did not fear the early morning of the next day. “When the one playing is one of your favorite groups and you haven't seen them for so long, there's no excuse not to come”, Sergio pointed out. And like him, many others must have thought the same thing, because it was a sold out night. The organization pointed out to La Vanguardia that the entire capacity of this first stage of the festival was sold or, what is the same, around a thousand tickets, all of them at very competitive prices, since they ranged between 7 and 22 euros, which allowed In addition, direct access to the restaurant area.

"We are very happy. The only thing we pray is that it doesn't rain. They say that around 11 p.m. four drops could fall. Finally, although there was some lightning and it rained in the last song, nothing spoiled the party, which for some had already started hours before the doors opened.

The classics were skilfully interspersed with more recent songs, such as Quiromántica, the pop single that speaks of the force of destiny. Although it was released in mid-March, the public passed the exam, as a large part of them proved to know the lyrics inside out. Of course, they also did not stop singing other hits that have already gone down in the history of national music, such as 1984 or Espíritu Santo, the most danced. Although one of the greatest moments of euphoria was experienced with La primavera, one of the main themes of the album Vs. Las Trumpetas de la Muerte. “Spring has arrived in the city!” the vocalists exclaimed happily, even though the high temperatures reminded us that we are already in summer.

After this triumphant premiere, around thirty international artists such as Natalia Lafourcade, Melody Gardot and Sebastián Yatra are expected over the next 45 days in the Pedralbes gardens, as well as famous local and national musicians such as Alizzz, David Bisbal, Els Amics de The Arts or Elephants. As Delafé and Las Flores Azules say in Mar el poder del mar, “this does not stop”. There is no better motto to summarize this beginning and everything that is to come.
