The Court of Barcelona has definitively archived seven of the eight complaints that had been appealed against teachers of the IES El Palau de Sant Andreu de la Barca (Baix Llobregat). The eight professors were accused of hate crimes, against moral integrity and against State institutions for allegedly having despised students who were children of civil guards after 1-O.

In 2019, the investigating court filed the eight cases, but both the prosecution and the private prosecution went through it. Now, as El Punt Avui has advanced and ACN has confirmed, the Court has ratified the file for seven teachers and urges the court to reopen one of the cases.

Those affected will meet this Tuesday to assess the judicial decisions. These eight complaints were investigated by Martorell Investigating Court number 7. The case of IES El Palau, however, included a ninth case, opened in the trial court number 3 of the same city.

In that case, the judge wanted to clarify the teacher's actions in an assembly on October 20, 2017 in which the students voted to support a student strike against the police action on 1-O.

One of the youngsters assured that the teacher had asked those students who were children of Civil Guard agents to raise their arms. However, the judge found inconsistencies in the young man's account when he summoned him to testify. He closed the case and the accusations did not file an appeal.
