The acting Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño; the vice-president of the Banco Central Europeo (BCE), Luis de Guindos; the governor of Banco de España, Pablo Hernández de Cos; the president of the European Banking Authority, José Manuel Campa; or the Minister of Economy and Finance of the Generalitat, Natàlia Mas, will be some of the protagonists of the XXVIII Economy Meeting which, organized by the Olof Palme International Foundation, is hosting one more year in S'Agaró.
On this occasion, the forum, which will be held on November 24 and 25, has as its motto “Recovery, growth and challenges in the Spanish economy.” The opening of the event will have as its star figure the vice president of the European Central Bank, Luis de Guindos, who will be accompanied by the councilor Natàlia Mas and the director of La Vanguardia, Jordi Juan, along with Josep Lluís Bonet, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, and Anna Balletbò, president of the Olof Palme Foundation.
Throughout the conference, the impact of the Next Generation funds, artificial intelligence, the debate on access to housing, the energy transformation, as well as the role of Spain in Europe and of SMEs in the growth of the economy. At the geopolitical level, the meeting will also have a table dedicated to the role of the European Union in the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.
On Friday the 24th, a dinner debate will be held with Salvador Illa, first secretary of the PSC and head of the opposition in Catalonia, as a guest in which the politician will try to answer the question "What Catalonia do we need?"
At the closing ceremony, on Saturday, the European Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, and Nadia Calviño are expected to speak.
