The home unit of the Central Criminal Investigation Division of the Mossos d'Esquadra has led, since early Tuesday morning, a police macro-operation against a transnational criminal organization dedicated to home robberies and money laundering.

The investigation, according to El Caso.cat, has begun with several detainees, all of Georgian nationality, in different parts of Catalonia, with the metropolitan area of ​​Barcelona as the epicenter. The operation, called the Shodka case, has also had the collaboration of the National Police, Europol and the FBI.

The same sources indicate that in Catalonia alone a total of 25 entries and searches are expected in homes, offices and commercial offices related to this Georgian mafia network. Some 350 Catalan police officers participate, including investigators, agents from ARRO, Brimo, Tedax and members of Canina. The investigation is under confidentiality.
