Cornellà's budget grows to 107.3 million euros

The budget of the Cornellà de Llobregat City Council will grow this year to 107.27 million euros, 6.04% more than in 2023. As reported by the City Council through a statement, municipal accounts reach up to 137 million euros if the municipal company Procornellà and the Institut Municipal de Radiodifusió are included. In addition, municipal accounts reach 148 million, also including Tecsalsa and two foundations.

"We want to convey calm and confidence in progress and consolidate the stability of the city," said the mayor of Cornellà de Llobregat, Antonio Balmón. "We will focus our efforts on continuing to promote projects and services that allow us to guarantee the well-being of people and the urban transformation of the city," added the veteran PSC mayor.

The investment chapter rises to 8.1 million euros. They will be destined, as explained by the City Council through a statement, to the "transformation of some streets into single platform roads, to the reform and renovation of different equipment and to the construction of a new premises for the Information and Resources Center per a les Dones (CIRD)".

Other pillars of the new budget are "security, urban transformation and the maintenance of public space, social policies and moral progress." 57% of the total expenditure will be met with own resources and the rest with aid and transfers from other administrations.

The budget of the Cornellà de Llobregat City Council was approved with the vote in favor of the two groups that are part of the municipal government, the PSC and Cornellà en Comú Podem. The rest of the parties represented in the municipal plenary session voted against.
