The streaming video platform Netflix has just published a job offer with a remuneration that reaches one million dollars, although this is not the first time that the company has launched an advertisement for a job with a salary similar to this one. In July it reported that it needed a product manager for its machine learning platform (MLP), a position for which it offered between $300,000 and $900,000.
"It appears that while artificial intelligence threatens myriad jobs, it has at the same time created new ones, some with exuberantly generous pay," says business school professor Pablo Foncillas. In addition to Netflix, other companies "are willing to offer truly obscene salaries or pornosalaries" to attract the best AI talent, which "clearly demonstrates" the value and importance of this technology, adds the innovation popularizer.
A recent report revealed that the vast majority of managers were looking for workers with ChatGPT experience. The survey also found that one in four employers offered a starting salary of more than $200,000 for prompt engineers, responsible for guiding AI models to provide a coherent response.
