Colau will set sail with the Freedom Flotilla to try to break the blockade of Gaza

The former mayor of Barcelona Ada Colau will set sail with the Freedom Flotilla with a thousand activists to try to break the blockade of Gaza, according to what Ara has reported and sources close to Colau have confirmed to ACN.

They will leave Türkiye in the coming days with a shipment of 5,500 tons of humanitarian aid. In total there will be four ships. The initiative comes after the murder of seven members of the NGO World Central Kitchen who were working with authorization from the Israeli army. However, in this case there is no coordination with the Israeli authorities.

The Flotilla will be made up of a cargo ship that will carry 350 aid containers, and three ships that will carry observers, medical personnel, political representatives and the media.

This initiative has already attempted two actions in the past to break the blockade. In 2010 the Israeli navy raided the ships and ten people died, nine activists and a journalist.
