Twenty-four hours before the municipal government presents its first proposal for budgets and fiscal ordinances for next year at a press conference, Barcelona en Comú today explained its conditions to move towards the formation of a left-wing government in the capital's City Council. The budget proposal of Ada Colau's party is about 3,900 million euros, higher by about 300 million than this year, a circumstance that is difficult to fit with the accounts of the socialists, who do not see it as very viable to continue with the expansive budgets of the last years. In any case, Jordi Martí expressed his full willingness to discuss the accounts within the technical sphere.
Both explained that Colau and Collboni met this Monday, within the framework of the round of contacts that the mayor is carrying out, and that with the presentation of this document they have decided to "take the initiative" to reach an agreement and form a coalition government.
The commons regret that Collboni puts budget negotiation before that of a government pact. Today we do not have to "decide the 2024 Budget, it is one of the elements, but we have to discuss what has to be done in the coming years," the spokespersons for the commons have pointed out in this sense. "We wanted to move forward and build a first step in the roadmap of the proposals that we believe this progressive coalition agreement should contain," added Janet Sanz.
