The council has reported in a statement that the aforementioned plan is activated in the alert phase when there is a warning of poor sea conditions and when waves of more than 2.5 meters can form with a high probability, becoming a danger to the people. people or damage to furniture.

For this reason, citizens have been recommended to increase caution and avoid accessing the beaches and are reminded of the prohibition of going to the breakwaters and entering the water while the red flag, hoisted on all beaches in Barcelona, is flying.

The Barcelona Urban Guard has been deployed on the Barcelona coast and has closed the access to the breakwaters and areas where the waves break, to avoid risks to people, the City Council has assured.
