Carlos Mazón wants to hold a "bilateral" meeting with Pedro Sánchez. This was conveyed to the Government Delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, in the meeting that both held at the Palau de la Generalitat Valenciana. In addition, the president has asked him to convey the "urgency" of convening the Conference of Presidents and a new session of the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council (CPFF) to address the reform of regional financing.
In a climate of institutional collaboration, Mazón explained that this past Tuesday he sent his second request to Sánchez to convene the Conference of Presidents "as soon as possible", since he has warned that if he does not do so he would be violating the regulations of this forum because Ten regional presidents have already requested it.
"I hope it happens, I don't want to think about what would happen if it doesn't happen, it's common sense. (...) The Government is already in place and there are parliamentary agreements. It's common sense, convenient, necessary and urgent that the Conference of Presidents is held"; to add that he hopes to hold a "bilateral meeting" with Sánchez as soon as possible.
Regarding the CPFF, he has insisted that the Consell is waiting for it to reconvene and that, while the financing reform arrives, the Valencian Community must receive a leveling fund as it is the most underfinanced autonomy. "Hopefully the new financing system will be a reality in this legislature," he hoped.
For her part, the Government delegate has responded that the deadlines for the Conference of Presidents are part of Sánchez's agenda and that it will be convened "in a timely manner" as in the last legislature, as well as that the CPFF was convened "ago a few weeks" within "institutional normality".
Mazón has conveyed to the Government delegate other demands of the Generalitat such as assuming the management of the minimum vital income, coordinating it with the Valencian inclusion income "with the appropriate means", or that a sectoral immigration conference be convened "on matters that only we have seen in the media", in reference to the pact between Junts and the PSOE to transfer migration powers to Catalonia.
In addition, it has demanded that the State comply with the 50% that it must contribute from the funds for dependency and that it increase the number of MIR places, as well as a greater provision of courts "to fight against violence in all its extremes" and 105 more places. for the Police attached to the Generalitat to reach a total of 500.
Other of their demands are the reform of the Coastal Law, while the Generalitat works on its own regulations, and the Imserso program to make it economically "viable", together with the expansion of the Valencia airport and the launch of a second track for the one from Alicante.
In terms of water, Mazón has urged the Government to join the Water Table that will be promoted by the Generalitat and that "this quarter will see the light" through the participation of the hydrographic confederations. Bernabé has replied that there are already "mechanisms to speak and collaborate" within the institutional dialogue.
Bernabé has agreed that "political normality" must prevail despite the fact that there are "very high levels of tension." "When this community has done best is when the governments have been aligned by the Valencians," he stated, and recognized that the Consell and Government must make an "added effort" to maintain the good relationship after the leadership changes in 2023. .
In her speech, the delegate expressed her concern about "certain discourses" that generate denial of sexist violence and that represent "taking steps backwards", although she stressed that her collaboration in this fight with the second vice president and Minister of Social Services, Susana Camarero, is "excellent." Mazón, asked about this claim, stressed: "I will never change the owner of a banner so as not to seek union."
On the other hand, Bernabé has committed to working to maintain the level of "excellence" of the Comunitat "without retreating in any type of rights" and has highlighted that the current Government is "the most Valencian in history", with positions such as Minister Diana Morant or the Secretaries of State Rebeca Torró and Arcadi España in "strategic areas."
