The First Vice Presidency and Ministry of Culture and Sports has published a resolution with the bases of the procedure for the selection of the people who hold the deputy directorates of Performing Arts, Audiovisuals and Cinematography and Music and Popular Culture of the Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC). ).

With this step, the renewal of the positions appointed by the Botànic through a competition is accelerated. The director of the Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Community, José Luis Pérez Pont, has already been dismissed, not without controversy. In addition, the deadline for the election of the new IVAM manager has also been opened.

According to the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) this Friday, candidates must be in possession of a university degree or equivalent; be nationals of an EU member country or, if not, their appointment will be conditional on obtaining legal residence in Spain; prove experience at levels of responsibility in the cultural field or have not been separated, through disciplinary proceedings, from the service of any public administration, nor are they disqualified from exercising public functions.

Likewise, knowledge of other official EU languages, as well as Valencian, will be valued as merit; the leadership capacity to develop the implementation and review of strategies, policies and programs that make it possible for the organization to achieve the assigned missions and objectives; communication and negotiation skills, as well as planning, determining priorities, decision-making and conflict resolution and the ability to represent the IVC "in the widest spectrum of areas, to build and develop networks of relationships, both internal and external , as well as the ability to lead and motivate the human group that works" at the institute.

Interested parties may submit their applications starting this Saturday, January 6, and for a period of ten business days, at the IVC electronic headquarters, necessarily accompanied by the corresponding identity document, passport or residence card; the required academic qualification and curriculum vitae and supporting documentation thereof.

Project

Likewise, they must attach a project for the attached direction to which they choose and that develops, among other aspects, the proposed objectives; its lines of action; scheduling activities; the collaboration and dissemination of the performing arts, audiovisual and cinematography or Valencian music and popular culture with the educational, economic and social sectors.

The project, contained in a maximum of twenty pages in Arial 12 font, must also raise coordination with the rest of the cultural public sector and the promotion of artistic research, creation and training, as well as all those issues that are considered appropriate in relation to the position to be held.

The specific selection criteria, participation, evaluation procedure and election of candidates and other detailed aspects of the call can be consulted in the DOGV.

The Board of Directors of the IVC agreed on October 23 to dismiss the heads of the three attached directorates, which will take effect on the date of the day before the appointment of the new people who occupy these positions.

The IVC is a public law entity, attached to the First Vice Presidency and Department of Culture and Sports, whose purpose is the development and execution of the cultural policy of the Generalitat in terms of knowledge, protection, promotion, recovery, conservation, restoration, study, research, promotion and dissemination of the performing, musical, and plastic arts in all their varieties and museums in particular.
