Barça will enter 35.4 million of the 50.4 from the sale of Dembélé to PSG

It was about to fall for a few days, especially since Tuesday, when the footballer flew back to Paris without a return ticket while Barcelona played the Gamper. But it became official on the morning of this Saturday. Barça and PSG finalized the transfer of Ousmane Dembélé to the Parisian team. The Barcelona team affirms that the sale is for 50.4 million, the figure indicated in the release clause of his contract if the winger informed Barça that he wanted to leave before July 31.

It remained to know how that cake was divided. It should be remembered that in the Frenchman's renewal contract, Barça agreed to include a mandatory transfer clause. If the player notified before July 31 that he had a proposal, he could leave by entering 25 million to be shared with his representative, Moussa Sissoko, of the 50 that Barça will receive. But the sports leadership considers that the negotiations opened by its agents with PSG do not conform to the wording of the clause. They also believe that they do not owe Sissoko anything because he has not worked with the club. For this reason they have decided to pay 15 million of the 50 to Dembélé. With this calculation, the club enters 35.4 million for the French. The reaction of Dembélé's agents who do not rule out taking the case to court remains to be seen.

What is already fetén is that Dembélé is a new PSG footballer and that he has signed for Luis Enrique's team for five seasons, until June 2028. Six years after the Parisian team cast their nets at the Camp Nou to pay the Neymar's clause of 222 million returns to fish in Barcelona territory. Now for much less money.

Dembélé cost Barcelona, that same 2017, 105 million fixed plus 40 in variables. A very high amount and more taking into account the overall performance of the player during his six Barcelona campaigns. But of course, Barça then had the fresh money that Neymar had left in the box and Borussia Dortmund, Dembélé's club, took advantage of it to get a good slice.

Dembélé almost never met expectations, especially due to the fifteen injuries he suffered and which made him miss up to 119 games. He leaves Barça after playing 185 official matches, scoring 40 goals and distributing 42 assists. He helped win seven titles (3 Leagues, 2 Cups and 2 Spanish Super Cups) but his influence in European competitions was very poor.

Now, at 26 and more mature, especially because of the confidence that Xavi Hernández gave him, for whom he was a capital piece, he returns to the French league, where he trained with Rennes. If it hadn't been for the Terrassa coach, Dembélé would have left Barcelona before. In fact he was about to do it last summer, when his contract had expired and no renewal agreement had been reached. But, then, against the forecast, a new agreement was sealed for two seasons. An entente that has ended up lasting only one academic year due to the existence of that release clause in very favorable conditions for the footballer. Namely a not very high amount to set an output and a distribution of profits from the sale.

“I am delighted to sign for PSG and I am looking forward to playing for my new club. I hope to continue growing here and make all the fans proud," Dembélé said. Curiously, the Kylian Mbappé section greeted his compatriot on social networks and congratulated himself on his signing. "Welcome brother, I am very happy to see you here, the adventure begins," wrote Mbappé, who continues to keep his pulse with PSG by not wanting to renew his contract. We will have to see if they end up playing together in Paris
