Barça turns off the alarms: Mirotic only has discomfort in the Achilles tendon

For a few hours he feared the worst. Different information, mainly from the Serbian network Telesport, pointed out that Barça's power forward Nikola Mirotic had a very serious injury to his Achilles tendon and would be out for at least six months. The reality, fortunately for the interests of the Barça entity, was different. The club reported that there is no injury, but there are some discomforts that will make them rest for the next few weeks. The player planned to return to training at the end of August.

Given the tension caused by these speculations, the club had to issue a statement to clarify the situation. According to Barça, Mirotic already played the final stretch of last season with discomfort "and is undergoing recovery treatment that will last over the next few weeks. Since the 2021/22 season ended, the player has been under the control of the Club's medical services".

Barça has not offered an approximate estimate of the player's time off, although they start from the basis that Mirotic will be able to start the season normally. The statement is limited to the usual "his evolution will mark his return to the slopes."

The Montenegrin power forward will be treating this ailment for the next few weeks to return to the courts as soon as possible. There is still no certainty that he will be able to start the season with the rest of his teammates, but since there is no break, his loss will be considerably less prolonged than the six months indicated by the first information from Serbia.
