Badalona hires 105 unemployed people

The first deputy mayor of the Badalona City Council, Àlex Montornès, today welcomed the 105 new people hired through the Badalona City Council Employment, Work and Training Plans. The objective of the initiative is that people, who will join this May, improve their employability with the acquisition of skills and competencies derived from work practice.

During this month of May, the 105 people who were unemployed and who have been hired through the Work and Training Employment Plans promoted by the Badalona City Council and the Employment Service of Catalonia have begun to work.

The profile of the people hired corresponds to the three lines of action promoted. 35 people aged 52 or over, who were unemployed and registered as unemployed job seekers (DONO), have been hired. 39 places for unemployed people registered as unemployed jobseekers (DONO) at risk of falling into a situation of long-term unemployment, not receiving unemployment benefits, who have been registered unemployed for at least 6 months, in a period of 18 months prior to the date of presentation of the job offer. And 31 unemployed people registered as unemployed job seekers (DONO), recipients of the guaranteed citizenship income.

The people hired will work until April 2023 performing different tasks (administrative assistants, orderlies, maintenance workers, garden workers, bricklayers, plumbers, painters, a truck driver, locksmith welder, information agents, facilitator of new technologies and commercial revitalization). Throughout this period they will receive support with the aim of improving their employability with the acquisition of aptitudes and skills, both professional and technical, as well as personal and transversal.
