Ayuso will assume 85% of the university fees of Hispanic American students

A "call effect" of Hispanic American students. This is what the regional government of Madrid, chaired by Isabel Díaz Ayuso, intends with its announcement to grant "up to 85%" of their university fees in public centers, which in practice is equivalent to equalizing the economic benefits of Spanish students or members. from European Union countries to all those from countries where Spanish is the official language.

To this end, the Community of Madrid will modify the Public Price Decree so that university students from Latin American countries stop suffering from what, in the words of Emilio Viciana, they describe as an economic "disadvantage" for involving the payment of fees up to six times higher than those paid by Spanish and European students for their first registration.

Although the Minister of Education, Science and Universities has not yet wanted to quantify the final amount of the initiative, it will be launched in the next academic year, based on the projected aid - a non-resident Hispanic American student who wants to train in Medicine could going from paying 8,180 euros a year to paying 1,240, and one for History, from 6,822 to 1,015 -, and the number of beneficiaries - estimated at 2,800 - the financial allocation for this "call effect" would not drop below 15 million euros.

The measure will be applied to both university and master's degree enrollments and will focus on students from Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico and Chile, which would guarantee that Madrid becomes "the reference campus for higher education in Spanish" allowing " strengthen ties with Latin America". Something that the Sol Executive understands will grow a Hispanic American community that, based on the elections last May, represents more than 8% of the Madrid census.

A group of voters from whom the PP expressly asked to vote by organizing several specific events for the appointment with the polls on March 28 and which also bore fruit in the July general elections when the count of the foreign vote won it Alberto Núñez Feijóo an extra seat for Madrid, snatching it from the PSOE.

In the same direction, the Community of Madrid will include in its Law on Universities measures to guarantee that all students who receive university education in Madrid truly have a sufficient level of Spanish, especially so that they can obtain bachelor's, master's or doctoral degrees. , since in many cases the classrooms have high numbers of students from places like Asia who do not know Spanish, which complicates the development of the classes.

The Community of Madrid has also announced the launch of Health Education, a new program of prevention talks for health and hygiene in Primary (fifth and sixth grade), Secondary and Vocational Training educational centres.

Nursing professionals specializing in Primary Care will give talks, in schools and institutes that request it, on healthy habits, hygiene, addictions, mental health, drugs and eating habits and nutrition.

The Minister of Education has highlighted that the talks will be given by qualified professionals, following the criteria established in some guides that the Community of Madrid will prepare to guarantee students, families and centers information "free of ideology and engineering." social".

The program will be carried out in collaboration with the Ministries of Health and Family, Youth and Social Affairs.

During this course, the counselors will prepare guides that define both the content that must be taught and the methodology of the talks, which will be adapted to each age group.
