At least 40 Gazans died this Monday after Israeli troops bombed five reception centers, including two schools, where almost 30,000 displaced people were taking refuge in Khan Younis, in the south of the Strip, where the fighting is now concentrated.

"They were considered safe centers and the occupation Army had called on citizens to take refuge in them. Then, it committed a massacre there that left many martyrs," the spokesperson for the Gaza Government, controlled by Hamas, said in a statement today.

According to medical sources, at least 40 civilians arrived dead at Nasser's hospital, in addition to an unknown number of wounded, due to missile attacks and heavy artillery.

The total number of deaths in these attacks is unknown, but the Ministry of Health in Gaza, controlled by Hamas, today reported the death of 190 people and 340 wounded in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll to 25,295 and 63,000. wounded after 108 days of war in the Strip.

Two of the locations attacked were the Khalidiya school and Al Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, where Palestinian Red Crescent medical staff reported that Israeli forces prevented the arrival of ambulances.

"Ambulances cannot take the wounded to Khan Yunis," the organization reported in a statement, in which it warned that it had completely lost contact with its teams at the site due to the ground offensive.

Israeli tanks and military vehicles also cordoned off the Al Nasser medical complex and the Al Amal hospital, where at least 20 other civilians lost their lives after a bombardment, the official Palestinian agency Wafa reported today.

The area around Al Aqsa University, west of Khan Yunis, where there are also displaced people, was also bombed by fighter jets, the agency reported.
