At least 11 dead in Russian bombing in eastern Donetsk region

Ukraine today reported the death of at least 11 people, including five children, in a Russian missile bombardment this Saturday against the city of Pokrovsk, in the eastern region of Donetsk.

"11 dead, including 5 children - these are the preliminary consequences of the attacks in the Pokrovsk district," wrote the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadim Filashkin, on his Telegram channel.

He indicated that Russian forces attacked the area, located northwest of the regional capital, Donetsk, with S-300 missiles. In addition to the fatalities, there are at least eight injured, he added.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in turn noted on Telegram that rescue efforts are being carried out in Pokrovsk and denounced that Russia attacked residential buildings and private houses.

"Russia must always feel that none of these attacks will remain without consequences. We have to guarantee this with our strength, our own defense and our political capabilities," he stressed.

Russian air defense systems shot down six Ukrainian Neptun anti-ship missiles over the Black Sea today, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

"The air defense guard systems detected and shot down six Ukrainian missiles over the northeastern part of the Black Sea," the military department said in a note published on Telegram.

According to Defense, the attack, carried out with Neptun missiles, took place around 5:00 p.m. Moscow time.

Faced with the stalemate on the front line, both sides intensify attacks against the enemy rearguards.

In recent days, Ukraine has bombed several Russian border regions, in particular the city of Belgorod, causing material damage.

In addition, Kyiv maintains pressure on the annexed Crimean peninsula, against which it launched ten missiles on Thursday and thirty drones on Friday.
