A man opened fire against the Mossos d'Esquadra this Friday in La Bisbal de Empordà (Girona) and was injured by police shots.
According to sources close to the case, around four in the afternoon the man's relatives notified the emergency services because he was in an aggressive attitude at a home located on València Street. According to the first information, when the Mossos arrived at the scene and were inspecting the area, the man appeared on the street, took out his firearm and shot at the patrol. The agents responded to the attack and opened fire, with their service weapon. The man has been injured. The Catalan Medical Emergencies System (SEM) has transferred him to the Dr. Josep Trueta from Girona. At the moment, his condition is unknown. For their part, the Catalan police officers have not suffered injuries.
The Mossos d'Esquadra have opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the shooting. The suspect is initially detained for the crime of attacking law enforcement officers.
