Arch of fog crowning the road

An arch of fog crowning the path, a path that takes us to this beautiful farmhouse that we see to the right of this image in The Readers' Photos of La Vanguardia, in Gurb, Osona region.

The fog arc is formed when we have the sun behind us and the fog in front of us, it is like a rainbow but without color, as we can see in the photograph.

Gurb is a large municipality located in the Plana de Vic, a common place for fog. Here this meteorological phenomenon is known as the Pubilla de la Plana.

The fog provides humidity and a very light precipitation that in these times of drought helps the fields a little to make them look green.

The fog is very typical of the Osona region. Not in vain is it the place in Spain with the most days recorded with this meteorological phenomenon, a hundred a year. In some areas it is also known as "baixa joke".
