The Valencian Minister of Justice and Interior, Elisa Núñez (Vox), and the general director of Attention to Victims, Belén Pulgar. This morning they held a meeting with the representatives in Valencia of the Association for the Defense of Abused Men. Sources from the department have stressed to this newspaper that the meeting has been held at the proposal of the association itself, and have added that the councilor "will meet with all victims' associations that request it."
These sources have highlighted that the meeting has been "a first contact", and that the association has transferred the situation of the associates to the councilor without any specific request or commitment having been established. "It's a first date," these sources added.
As highlighted on its website, the Association for the Defense of Battered Men, "defends battered men and also those who are mistreated through a false report of gender violence. Those who are innocent do not settle or agree to a lesser punishment but they defend their innocence to the end, they seek justice. We will be there to help them."
According to the association, its mission is "to protect the group of men abused by their partners or ex-partners, both directly and indirectly through false complaints without reasons, offering legal, psychological or expert services to abused men, and intervening in the social context to disseminate its social problems and raise awareness about the need for a change in current legislation by which the group is not treated fairly and equally."
