Aplec is still very much alive

The Aplec is a meeting that is often held outdoors and around a certain theme, it has a religious origin and is celebrated throughout the Catalan territory with the common denominator that this tradition has managed to reach our days by being intergenerational, bringing together people of all ages year after year.

Although some of these meetings have lost their religious connotation, they have remained an element to keep folkloric manifestations alive, such as the sardana dances, or patriotic ones, such as the Aplec del Pi de les Tres Branques.

In the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can relive in images the last Gathering of Sant Sebastià, in Santa Eulàlia de Riuprimer, in the region of Osona.

As can be seen in the images, there was no shortage of mass, popular rice, sardanas and caramellaires. It was a fantastic day, enjoying traditions and a meal outdoors.

As is tradition, on the Sunday after Easter in the Hermitage of Sant Sebastià the Aplec is held and the candy makers of Santa Eulalia sing again and do the ballets.
