Anil Murthy ceases to be the president of Valencia after the leaked audios

Anil Murthy ceases to be the president of Valencia. The club has issued a statement this Monday to announce that Peter Lim's right-hand man is disassociating himself from the entity after some private audios came to light in which he pointed to the sales of Carlos Soler and Gayá, two of the best players Of the template.

The Valencia Board of Directors regrets that these audios affect "the club's relationship with the fans" and distances itself from its content. He considers that "a change in leadership is required to regain the credibility of the fans and the community in order to position Valencia CF on the path to success."

Sean Bai, who has been at the club since 2018 and was director of the academy, will be the interim general director of Valencia while waiting to find a new president. Khojama Kalimuddin, Non-Executive Director, will take over as Chairman of the Board of Directors to oversee the administration of the club during this period.

In the statement, the Council headed by Lim reiterates its commitment to "achieve its long-term growth and success and complete the construction of the New Mestalla."

Murthy traveled to Singapore last weekend to meet with the club's top shareholder. It was expected that this meeting would serve to establish the economic parameters of the project for the 2022-23 season, which in turn should allow marking a list of priorities in terms of entries and exits in the squad.

The trip had been planned since before the publication of Murthy's audios at a meal with businessmen in which he talked about Lim or the future of some players, and that Mestalla was left almost empty in the League match against Celta and that Thousands of people will demonstrate at the gates of the stadium against Lim.

The meeting took place after the coach José Bordalas assured that he has no intention of paying the clause that allows him to disassociate himself from Valencia, but also after he has publicly requested that the signings that arrive compensate for the casualties that are going to occur due to the inevitable sales and to put together a team to fight for Europe. It must be remembered that Valencia was runner-up in the Copa del Rey this season.
