Andalusia could go to court to defend its fiscal policy against the State's counter-reform

To the courts. The Andalusian Government would thus take another step in its war against the central Executive on account of the tax reduction approved in the south and the package of measures announced yesterday by the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, with which it is intended, in the opinion of the team of Juanma Moreno, president of the Board, "neutralize" the "lower fiscal pressure" promoted in the community.

It was today in Almería when Ramón Fernández-Pacheco, the newly appointed government spokesman in the community, announced that they are studying the possibility of taking the matter to court, in addition to taking the opportunity to criticize that both Sánchez and the PSOE want that “Andalusia always follows behind” since he has pointed out that Moreno Bonilla “has come to lead”.

For the PP-A, the Solidarity Tax announced by the Government of Sánchez is still a Wealth Tax and, although the community has subsidized 100% and will stop charging that 0.2% of Andalusian taxpayers to the that benefits, the State will pocket its corresponding part.

If yesterday Moreno boasted of "setting" the political agenda and forcing the State and the rest of the communities to lower taxes to keep up with him, today they announce that they could resort to Justice considering that the central government "attacks" autonomy and their self-determination, wanting to "counteract" the tax reduction devised and launched from San Telmo. The Andalusian Executive "will defend itself with all the tools at its disposal", Fernández-Pacheco has advanced, while insisting that the Andalusians "can rest easy" because "they have in front" a president who "will always fight for their interest general". "Of course, we are not going to stand still in the face of this attack on the autonomy of Andalusia and we are going to study the norm to use all the weapons that are in our hands," he said.

Let us remember that in Moreno's sixth tax reduction (which contemplates the annual suspension of the water canon and the deflation of 4.2 in the IRPF in the lower sections) the Wealth Tax is eliminated or totally discounted, an issue highly criticized within and outside the community by signing up that only benefits those who have the most. Specifically, the reduction to zero of this rate affects less than 20,000 inhabitants since the opposition bench in the Andalusian Parliament emphasized the deterioration that public services will suffer due to this imposed fiscal policy.

"To be a patriot today is to know that now it's time to pay taxes, especially those who have the most," Juan Espadas, general secretary of the PSOE-A, snapped at Moreno yesterday during a plenary session.

The spokesman for the Government of Andalusia has argued the decision to take this matter to court because the State is intervening, in a certain way, in the power of the community to decide on economic and fiscal matters. In addition, he has pointed out, the policies announced by the Treasury "create legal insecurity and uncertainty" and represent a "disproportionate reaction to the sixth tax cut promoted by the Government of Andalusia."

"It seems that every time Andalusia takes flight, the Government of Spain and the PSOE are determined to clip our wings because they do not like Andalusia to lead, they do not like Andalusia to advance or dispute first place with the territories that traditionally have flaunted." In fact, he has accused the Executive of "wanting" that Andalusia "always follow in the queue as happened with the socialist governments".

"Andalusians can rest easy because they have a committed president at the head of their government who will always, always, always fight for the general interest of Andalusia," he concluded.
