An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 shakes the Val d'Arán without causing damage

An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 on the Richter scale was registered around 7:42 p.m. this Monday near the municipality of Viella (Lleida), in the Val d'Aran, without causing personal or material damage.

As reported by the Civil Protection of the Generalitat, the epicenter of the seismic movement was registered in the province of Huesca, but the earthquake was felt in localities in the regions of Valle de Arán or Alta Ribagorza, in localities such as Bossoòts, Viella or Villager

Civil Protection has activated the Seismic Emergency Plan of Catalonia (SISMICAT) in the alert phase as a result of this earthquake registered in the Lleida and Huesca Pyrenees.

The 112 emergency telephone number has received nine calls related to the earthquake, 5 from Bossòst, 3 from Vielha and 1 from Vilaller, in Lleida, most of them to report the earthquake and due to the fall of some tiles
