Alcorcón police save a 90-year-old woman from cardiorespiratory arrest

Agents of the Municipal Police of Alcorcón, in a joint action with members of the National Police, have managed to save the life of a 90-year-old woman who had gone into cardiorespiratory arrest in the middle of a public street.

The events occurred on Monday morning, when local agents went to Río Segre Street, where a 90-year-old woman had gone into cardiorespiratory arrest, as indicated by the local Corps through their social networks.

The police officers began first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers and, thanks to the subsequent help of a semi-automatic defibrillator (DESA) provided by the Police, they managed to reverse the initial cardiorespiratory arrest.

Once her pulse was recovered, doctors from the Summa 112 mobile ICU managed to stabilize the woman, although she was transferred "in very serious condition" to the Fundación de Alcorcón University Hospital.

A few months ago, witnesses and members of the Civil Protection of Alcorcón also saved the life of a 62-year-old man who had gone into cardiorespiratory arrest in the Santo Domingo Sports Center, also in this town, in another chain of survival.

Upon the arrival of Civil Protection, several witnesses were performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers, so the emergency services continued with the maneuvers, also using an automatic defibrillator (AED), managing to recover the man's pulse.

Once his pulse was recovered, the Summa 112 health workers stabilized the man and later transferred him with a pulse to the hospital in an ICU at the Fundación Hospital in Alcorcón.
