Abascal conveys his discomfort to Meloni over the appointment of Sánchez as president

The president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, has met in Rome with the far-right leader and Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni. In this way, the leader of Vox continues with his purpose of explaining in all the forums to which he has access the, in his opinion, irregular investiture of Pedro Sánchez as president of Spain.

As reported by the Spanish far-right party in a statement, Abascal has conveyed to Meloni his concern about the situation that Spain is going through in the face of the upcoming amnesty for those accused in the Catalan independence process and has analyzed the strategies with the leader of Fratelli d'Italia. of their respective parties before the European elections scheduled for June 2024.

During the meeting, which took place in Rome, Abascal warned Meloni of the "serious risk" to the rule of law that, in his opinion, the agreements by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, to be invested, as well as of the political and social consequences that the amnesty foresees will cause.

The European elections were another of the topics discussed at the meeting, which both Abascal and Meloni reported on through their 'X' social network accounts. Both have spoken about the future they desire for the EU and the electoral prospects of the Party of European Conservatives and Reformists chaired by Meloni and of which the leader of Vox, Jorge Buxadé, is vice president.

Meloni reported on this meeting on his X account, where he wrote: "Two brother peoples for a united Europe of free and sovereign nations", while Abascal, also through this social network, thanked the Italian Prime Minister his "friendship and constant support."
