A tradition smears mud on the Balinese

In the Balinese village of Kedonganan, in the city of Bagdung, its inhabitants take mud baths in gratitude for the fertility of the land. It is “Mebuug Buugan”, a ritual carried out by men, women, boys and girls in the community. Its neighbors also believe that it is a tradition that neutralizes spiritual negativity.

This custom is celebrated in Bali after the celebration of Nyepi, another local tradition that aims to ask for the grace of Ida Saghyang Widhi Wasa (something like an Almighty God) so that humanity receives prosperity and security.

In this country of Indonesia, life revolves around many ceremonies, which is why it is an area with many places for meditation between volcanoes, lakes, waterfalls, mountains, beaches, houses and various spaces dedicated to prayer.
